Keynesianism and the Long Run: in the Atlas Society Day at FreedomFest

To libertarians, “Keynesianism” means government intervention policies such as deficit spending. In economics, the essential premise of Keynesianism is that government policies such as changes in the money supply or changes in net government spending have real effects on the patterns of production, investment, and employment in the short run.

In this talk, William Thomas will explain that this economic Keynesianism is sensible, and discuss what this implies about long-term economic performance. He will also discuss the effects of government economic intervention in the full context, and emphasize what Keynesians typically get wrong.
